Abstract

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) launched by the United Nations (UN) include 17 main goals, one of which is SDGs 5 which aims to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls. Sexual violence is one of the biggest obstacles to achieving this goal. In Indonesia, Komnas Perempuan has a very important role in realizing SDGs 5 by providing protection and assistance to victims of sexual violence. This type of research is descriptive qualitative by processing data using documentation studies sourced from journals, books, theses, articles, websites, and others. The results of this research show that the theory of state feminism is very linear with the role of the National Commission on Violence Against Women in various aspects, including policy advocacy, increasing public awareness, providing legal assistance, and psychosocial assistance to victims of sexual violence. Advocacy carried out by Komnas Perempuan has succeeded in pushing for the ratification of several important policies that support the protection of women's rights, such as the Sexual Violence Crime Law (TPKS). This is the right step in achieving the target of SDGs 5 to eliminate all forms of sexual violence in order to create gender equality in Indonesia.
