Abstract
This abstract discusses the investigation of forgery of the frame number and engine number of a stolen motor vehicle. Motor vehicle theft and resale with fake identification numbers are serious and complex crimes in criminal law. A common method used in this crime is to replace or discard the original identification number with a fake one to avoid detection by the authorities. The investigation of such cases requires cooperation between various agencies and authorities, including the police, tax authorities, and transportation regulatory bodies. Investigative measures include identification of stolen vehicles, tracing of illegal sale and purchase transactions, and forensic examination of suspected fake frame and engine numbers. The role of forensic technology is crucial in enforcing the law in these cases, with techniques such as engine fingerprint analysis and forensic data comparison to verify the authenticity of vehicle numbers. Investigators must also face challenges from increasingly sophisticated illegal practices, including the use of high technology to produce counterfeit numbers that are difficult to detect. Effective law enforcement in vehicle number forgery cases requires good coordination between various government agencies, the use of advanced forensic technology, and increased public awareness of the importance of compliance with regulations on vehicle identification. With this approach, it is hoped that cases of vehicle number counterfeiting can be dealt with efficiently and effectively to prevent this crime in the future.
