Abstract
Cases of fake police or fake police have often been heard about and have become widespread in Indonesia, where civilians claim to be police officers by wearing police attributes. So the author conducted research on the misuse of police attributes, the main focus of which was on licensing police attribute sellers outside the National Police Agency. The author conducted this research because of the widespread misuse of police attributes in society by civilians, in accordance with the news case in this article. The author conducted this research because misuse of police attributes will have a negative impact on the name of the Indonesian Police as well as harm the people who become victims and question the licensing and requirements for buying and selling police attributes. So in this research a problem formulation arises regarding how permits and requirements apply for buying and selling police attributes and also how the police attempt to overcome the sale of police attributes without permission in order to prevent misuse of police attributes by civilians. In this research, an empirical juridical (sociological) method was used by going into the field to obtain data material using interviews as a data collection method, with the resource person being the Head of the Malang City Police Provost Unit and several other members of the Police. The results of the research show that the process has not yet regulated regulations that specialize in the sale of police attributes outside the agency, and there is still minimal police effort in dealing with abuse of police attributes, especially police attributes sold on the market. The conclusion of this research is that there are still no specific regulations governing the sale of police attributes outside the agency, so that police attributes are sold and produced freely and there is a lack of maximum effort in dealing with this, resulting in widespread misuse of police attributes. From these conclusions, suggestions are obtained to maximize efforts to overcome the misuse of police attributes, as well as to implement special regulations to control the production, distribution and sale of police attributes on the market.
