Abstract
Generation Z was very fast in accessing and responding to information, but this resulted in stress, resulting in feelings of anxiety and inability to compete. This was an indicator of Fear of Missing Out (FoMO), which was one of the triggers for stress. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of FoMO on stress in Generation Z. The research method in this study used a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The sampling technique used was accidental sampling technique. The total subjects in this study were 127 subjects. The instruments used in this research were the Fear of Missing Out Scale to measure the level of FoMO and the Depression, Anxiety, Stress Scale 21 (DASS-21) to measure the level of stress. The results of data analysis using simple linear regression analysis showed that there was a significant influence of FoMO on stress in Generation Z (β=0.420; p=<0.001). This showed that there was a significant positive influence of FoMO on stress in Generation Z, the higher the level of FoMO, the higher the stress level.
