PERILAKU PROSOSIAL MAHASISWA DALAM PENGASUHAN ANAK DI LKSA PUTRI AISYIYAH ASRAMA RIVERSIDE KABUPATEN MALANG

This research examines the factors that influence prosocial behavior and the forms of prosocial behavior of college students in parenting for children at LKSA (Lembaga Kesejahteraan Sosial Anak). The aim of this research is to describe the factors that influence college student’s prosocial behavior as well as the forms of college student’s prosocial behavior in parenting for the children at LKSA.
This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. The subjects in this research were determined using a purposive technique. Afterwards, the data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique uses an interactive model (Milles and Huberman), namely data presentation, data condensation, and drawing conclusion. Data validity techniques use triangulation and member check. The results of this research show that the factors that influence college student’s prosocial behavior in parenting at LKSA are: 1). empathy to feel what the foster children feel, 2). the inherent social norms of parental upbringing implement college student’s attitudes towards helping each other, and 3). religion through the learning of the Al-Qur’an which encourages people to help others. The forms of parasocial behavior applied by the college students in parenting for the children include helping in 1). fulfillment of basic needs such as clothing, food, and shelter, 2). fulfillment of educational needs, 3). fulfillment of health (physical and mental health), and 4). carry out cooperation between the caregivers in parenting for the children at LKSA
