Abstract

This study aims to analyze the efforts of the Malang City Police Department in providing legal protection to victims of Auto Trade Gold Robot Trading, and to examine this legal protection from a victimology perspective. The research employs a sociological juridical method with a qualitative approach. The data used consists
of primary and secondary data, collected through interviews with the Malang City Police Department and Examination Reports (BAP) with three victims of Auto Trade Gold Robot Trading. The findings indicate that the police undertake legal protection efforts in pre-emptive, preventive, repressive, curative, and rehabilitative measures. Factors that contribute to individuals becoming victims
include the desire for quick profits, peer influence, lack of knowledge about the trading world, promotions, and economic pressure. These factors can be associated with victimology theories, such as Participating Victims Theory, Self-Victimizing
Victim Theory, the theory of how victims indirectly facilitate crime, and Unrelated Victims Theory.
