Abstract
Language is something that is used to communicate between people from different regions. Each region must have a variety of languages. The existence of language makes it easier for someone to communicate even though they have differences in each country. In this research, the researcher analyze the code switching sentences used by The Connell Twins in the YouTube video. This study used a descriptive qualitative method. The data consisted of two YouTube videos posted by The Connell Twins in June 2022 and June 2024. In this study, the researcher used document analysis methods which are usually found in qualitative research. This method involves examining and interpreting data to uncover meaning, gain understanding, and reach a conclusion. The finding shows that the code-switching carried out by The Connell Twins occurred in two ways: 1) starting the conversation in Indonesian and switching to English, and 2) starting the conversation in English and switching the language to Indonesian. And the second video, uses three types of code switching. This occurs when there are repeated sentences that are used for clarification and require lexical content when the correct equivalent word is not found.
