Abstract
This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness and validity of metaphorical thinking-based learning media supported by an Android application in teaching geometric shapes to students. This research employs the R&D (Research and Development) method with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) development model. The subjects of the study are 30 students of class VIII A at SMP Negeri 2 Trawas, Trawas District, Mojokerto Regency, East Java Province. Data collection techniques include observation and questionnaires. Product validation was conducted by the students using questionnaires, and the effectiveness analysis of the product was also obtained through student response questionnaires. The validation results show that the metaphorical thinking-based learning media obtained a score of 91.3%, categorized as very valid, while the application’s effectiveness received a score of 73.3%, indicating a positive effectiveness level. Therefore, the developed learning media is highly effective and valid for implementation among students.
