Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the application of the eduainment learning model and to analyze the critical thinking of students using the edutainment learning model in mathematics learning. The type of research used is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The subjects of this research were students of SMP Muhammadiyah 8 Batu. Data collection techniques were carried out using written tests, observations and interviews. Written tests were given to VII C class students totaling 30 students. Then, 2 students were taken as subjects to conduct interviews. Edutainment learning can familiarize students in thinking openly, without pressure, and fun. The application of this model can facilitate students in thinking critically. This learning model can improve students' critical thinking. Based on the results of the study, it shows that students' critical thinking skills in the pre-test average score is 55.02% and in the post-test the students' score increased by 25.45% to 80.47% with a good category. So that the implementation of the edutainment learning model provides an increase in students' critical thinking.
