Abstract

An analysis is necessary to identify the need for changes that can motivate students to learn and gain new knowlegde beyond what is offered by thematic books. Students require media that helps them better understand topics related to humans and objects in their environment. Based on this, the development of interactive media can be undertaken to enhance students’ comprehension and ethusiasm during learning activities. This interactive media will engage students in learning through play.

This study applies the lee & Owens development model, which consists of several phases : Analysis, design, develpoment, implementation, and evaluation. Data were collected from 26 fifth-grade students at SDN Capang 1 Purwodadi. The methods used for data collection included observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The research took place in October 2023.

The study led to the creation of an interactive media tool called ME-GAME (Mouse Education Game), accessible through a web link. This media includes a user guide printed on B5-sized paper. Media validation experts gave it a rating of 80% After revisions were made to the media validator, a score of 84.6% was found to be feasible for implementation in the field, and material experts rated it a 86%. Student feedback indicated a practically score of 98%. Therefore, it can be concluded that the e-smartlearning media is appropriate and appealing for thematic learning in fifth grade.
