KEANEKARAGAMAN JENIS TANAMAN DI HUTAN LINDUNG MENDIRO (PETAK 15) KPH JOMBANG DIVRE II PERHUTANI JAWA TIMUR

Communities with high species diversity are characterized by a balanced number of individuals in each species. This study aims to assess the diversity of plant species in Mendiro protected forest, KPH Jombang, and analyze its structure and composition. The research method used straight transect lines with direct observation. Primary data included species, stem diameter, and plant height, while secondary data were obtained from related agencies. Data analysis used a sampling intensity of 0.5% with a measuring plot area of 20 m x 20 m and a total of 33 plots. The results showed that in Mendiro protected forest plot 15 there were
23 plant species with 13,636 trees, 4,278 poles, 211 saplings, and 166 seedlings. The highest Importance Value Index in seedlings was shown by candlenut (Aleurutes moluccana). The Species Diversity Index in Mendiro protected forest plot 15 KPH Jombang is classified as medium with values for trees (2.748), poles
(2.236), saplings (2.430), and seedlings (2.248).
