STRATEGI PEMERINTAH DAERAH DALAM PERAN MAJAFEST UNTUK MENDUKUNG PENGEMBANGAN PARIWISATA DI KABUPATEN MOJOKERTO

This study aims to examine the tourism development strategy in Mojokerto Regency which is part of the Regional Government's efforts to advance the tourism sector. The research method used was descriptive qualitative with an observation and interview approach at the Mojokerto District Office of Culture, Youth, Sports, and Tourism. Primary data were obtained through observation, interviews, and direct documentation in the field, while secondary data were obtained from literature studies. The research subjects consisted of related parties such as the Culture Office, tourism stakeholders, and local communities. The results showed that the Mojokerto District Government has adopted a tourism development strategy that involves the preservation of local culture and traditions, as well as the promotion of leading tourist destinations such as Majafest. Sustainable tourism is the main focus in tourism development, taking into account environmental sustainability and socio-economic aspects. So it can be concluded that the local government strategy in the role of majafest to support tourism development in mojokerto district plays an important role in advancing the tourism sector in a sustainable manner, by involving various parties in efforts to preserve and develop the region. suggestions from researchers that the local government of mojokerto district needs to integrate Majafest activities with a broader tourism marketing strategy and utilize Majafest as an effective promotional platform.
