Abstract

As a plant of significant commercial importance, sugar cane (Saccharum officinarum L.) is the main ingredient in sugar production. Plant are able to absorbs nutrients more quickly when given complex inorganic fertilizer. This research aims to determine the effect of using the best dose of compound fertilizer for the growth of sugarcane varieties PSKA 942 in the vegetative phase. This research will be carried out at the kepel plantation of the Indonesian Sugar Plantation Research Center start from October 2023 until February 2024. This research used a Randomized Group Design (RCBD) consisting of 4 replications. Fertilizer dosage treatments included P0 (kontrol), P1 (2,47 gr/tan NPK Phonska; 3,07 gr/tan ZA; 1,22 gr/tan SP-36), P2 (4,95 gr/tan NPK Phonska; 6,16 gr/tan ZA; 2,45 gr/tan SP-36), P3 (7,42 gr/tan NPK Phonska; 9,22 gr/tan ZA; 3,67 gr/tan SP-36), P4 (9,9 gr/tan NPK Phonska; 12,3 gr/tan ZA; 4,9 gr/tan SP-36), P5 (12,37 gr/tan NPK Phonska; 15,37 gr/tan ZA; 6,12 gr/tan SP-36). The research data will be analysis using Anova. If the results show a real effect, they will be tested further using DMRT (Duncan's Multiple Range Test) with a level of 5%. Growth parameters include: number of shoots, number of tillers, stem height (cm), number of leaves, leaf area, and stem diameter (mm). The first observation began four teen days after planting and then continued with observation intervals every 2 weeks. The results of the research show the effect of different fertilizer doses on sugarcane growth. Treatment P5 showed relatively higher results in the parameters of number of leaves, leaf area, plant height and stem diameter. P2 treatment was relatively higher in the parameters of number of shoots and number of tillers. The P0 treatment showed lower results for all parameters.
