Abstract

Disasters are a series of events that threaten and disrupt people's lives caused by natural factors, non-natural factors and human factors, resulting in human casualties, environmental damage, property loss and psychological impacts. Based on BNPB data, during the period 1815–2018, the most dominant disaster events were recorded sequentially as floods, tornadoes, landslides, droughts, forest fires, earthquakes, coastal erosion, volcanic eruptions and tsunamis. Law No. 24 of 2007 Article 47 states that to reduce disaster risk for communities in disaster-prone areas, what must be done is to carry out mitigation activities. This application was created with the aim of helping the community in reducing the impact of the disaster. The method used in this research consists of several stages, including hardware design and software design. The hardware design uses ESP32 as a microcontroller with an AJ-SR04M Ultrasonic sensor, MPU6050 sensor, Soil Moisture sensor and additionally uses a DHT11 temperature sensor. This research uses a Linear Sequential model. In the research method in developing this system, the author applies the waterfall method. The stages in the software design process include Data Source, System Requirements Analysis, UI Design, UI Creation and code creation, finally Implementation of testing on the system that has been created. The results of the Natural Disaster Mitigation Application as above, consist of 3 functions Home, Education and finally About, from the title of my group's Capstone, namely the Natural Disaster Mitigation Application, the form of mitigation is in the form of educational information packaged through posters which is expected to have a positive impact on the community.
