Abstract
Halal tourism is a tourism concept that is in line with Islam and can be interpreted as involving Muslims who are interested in tourism while maintaining religious enthusiasm when traveling. The need to travel with religious provisions is the basis for Taiwan to develop halal tourism. The development of halal tourism in Taiwan is directly monitored by the Taiwanese government as well as Muslim institutions in Taiwan such as the THIDA Institute (Taiwan Halal Integrity Development Association), CMA (Chiness Muslim Association), and the Taipei Grand Mosque to maintain its halal status and to issue halal certificates for restaurants. . The development of Halal tourism in Taiwan aims to increase Taiwan tourism due to the decline in Chinese tourists due to the conflict between China and Taiwan. This research aims to find out the potential of Taiwan's halal tourism in increasing Muslim tourists. To make it easier for researchers, this research uses a descriptive approach. Then this research uses literature review and interview methods related to culture, norms and values that develop in the social context that is the focus of the research. Based on research that has been conducted, halal tourism has great potential to increase Muslim tourists in Taiwan due to the increase in the number of Muslim tourists from Muslim-majority countries such as Indonesia and Malaysia after the New Southbound Policy.
