Abstract
Capture fisheries as a system that has an important role in providing food, job opportunities, trade and welfare as well as recreation for some of the Indonesian population needs to be managed with a long-term orientation (sustainability management). The development of capture fisheries is essentially aimed at improving the welfare of the community, especially fishermen and at the same time to maintain the sustainability of fish resources and the environment. One of the cultures carried out in the capture fish fishery is the mane'e traditional ceremony in the Talaud archipelago, North Sulawesi. The Mane'e traditional ceremony is a tradition of traditional ceremonies of the coastal community of the Talaud islands which contains traditional fishing activities. The uniqueness of the Mane'e traditional ceremony on Kakorotan Island lies in the process of collecting fish that are led from the middle of the sea to the shore without using nets or hooks. The trend of capture fisheries in North Sulawesi Province for the 2014-2020 period tends to increase. This is due to the extension factor for fishermen, government factors and government assistance can also affect capture fisheries production, and the factor of utilizing appropriate technology for fishermen. The local wisdom of mane'e in North Sulawesi Province also has an influence on the results of fishing fisheries, with the application of local mane'e wisdom by the community is able to maintain the balance and preservation of marine nature. This is because in the implementation of local wisdom mane'e, the community uses traditional fishing gear, so that it is able to maintain the preservation and balance of marine nature in the North Sulawesi Province area.
