Abstract

This research is a thesis about public consumption patterns after the Covid-19 pandemic in Malang City. The background of this research is the existence of the Covid-19 pandemic which has an impact on the consumption pattern of the people of Malang City in 2018-2023. The purpose of this study is to find out the consumption patterns of the community before, during, and after the Covid-19 pandemic in Malang City and to find out the changes in public consumption patterns before, during, and after the Covid-19 pandemic in Malang City. The method used is quantitative data analysis with a descriptive analysis method. The results of the study show that the consumption pattern of the people of Malang City before the Covid-19 pandemic in monthly per capita expenditure on food commodities increased by 3.09% and non-food commodities decreased by 2.89%, the consumption pattern of the people of Malang City during the Covid-19 pandemic in monthly per capita expenditure on food commodities increased by 2.78% and non-food commodities increased by 0.04%, and the consumption pattern of the people of Malang City during the Covid-19 pandemic in monthly per capita expenditure on food commodities increased by 2.78% and non-food commodities decreased by 6.68%. This causes that the consumption patterns of the community before, during, and after the Covid-19 pandemic in Malang City have changed.
