Abstract

The selection of high-quality and disease-resistant shrimp post-larvae (Litopenaeus vannamei) is crucial in mitigating risks in this industry. This study aims to evaluate the impact of different post-larvae sources on cultivation outcomes. Analyzing the differences in post-larvae is expected to provide in-depth understanding of the factors affecting the performance of post-larvae from various hatcheries, including ABW (Average Body Weight), SGR (Specific Growth Rate), SR (Survival Rate), and FCR (Feed Conversion Ratio) in the intensive farming ponds of Muncar, Banyuwangi. Data collection methods involve experiments using a Completely Randomized Design with 3 treatments and 3 replications: Treatment (P1) Post-larvae A, Treatment (P2) Post-larvae B, and Treatment (P3) Post-larvae C. The best data for three parameters, namely FCR, SGR, and ABW, were obtained by post-larvae B with values of 0.92, 3.986%, and 9.7 grams respectively, while the best data for the SR parameter was produced by post-larvae C with a value of 81.27%. The results of the study indicate that the genetic factors of each post-larvae influence growth and feed efficiency in a uniform environment. Thus, selecting the right post-larvae is an important factor in improving the productivity and efficiency of vannamei shrimp farming, as well as adjusting farming management according to the genetic characteristics of the post-larvae. Based on the study, post-larvae B has the best performance.
