Abstract

Indonesian migrant workers have the potential to be affected by mental and psychological health disorders caused by new social environments such as culture, religion and customs that are different from the origin of the migrant workers. This study aims to determine the psychological state related to depression, anxiety and stress of Indonesian migrant workers who are in the shelter of the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur. The sample in this study amounted to 50 migrant workers. PMI is female who lives in the shelter of the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur. The sampling technique used total sampling. This study uses quantitative research with a descriptive approach using the depression, anxiety, and stress scale (DASS-21) instrument. The results of this study indicate that the psychological condition of PMI in the shelter is indicated to experience psychological problems with the results of normal depression levels 70%, moderate depression 22%, high depression 8%. Then the level of anxiety was normal 74%, moderate anxiety 22%, high anxiety 4%. Normal stress level 56%, moderate stress 34%, high stress 10%. Through this research, it is hoped that for the agency, namely the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, this research can be a reference for the Indonesian Embassy in order to deal with the psychological problems of immigrant workers in the shelter.
