HUBUNGAN ANTARA ADAPTASI BUDAYA DENGAN DISTRES PSIKOLOGIS YANG DIMODERASI OLEH KELEKATAN ORANG TUA PADA MAHASISWA BARU DARI PERANTAUAN

Malang is an educational city, where many students from outside Malang will migrate to the area where the campus is. Students who have just migrated will adjust to their new environment. I think the adaptation phase for new overseas students can be stressful, but it will probably depend on how attached new overseas students are to their parents as support from their immediate environment before leaving. The aim of this research is to prove that there is a relationship between cultural adaptation and psychological distress in overseas students which is moderated by parental attachment to overseas students. The research method used is a quantitative approach. This research uses accidental sampling data collection techniques. With subject criteria (1) UMM new students in semesters 1 and 3; (2) Male/Female; (3) Age 18-22 years; (4) Domicile outside Malang City. The research subjects were 100 respondents. From the results of this research, it can be concluded that there is a negative influence between cultural adaptation and psychological distress and parental attachment moderates the relationship between cultural adaptation and psychological distress.
