PERAN RELAWAN POLITIK PADA PEMILIHAN UMUM LEGISLATIF TAHUN 2024 DI KECAMATAN BUNYU KABUPATEN BULUNGAN

The 2024 general election has been held on 14 February 2024 simultaneously throughout Indonesia. General elections are a democratic party held every five years. The general election is identical to the campaign period. Campaigns aim to promote candidates to voters, usually by the candidate himself with the help of political parties, campaign teams, up to political volunteers. But a different phenomenon occurred in Bunyu district Bulungan regency during legislative elections, because only political volunteers supported and helped legislative candidates during the elections. Political volunteers in the Bunyu district take over and carry out the role that should be played by a political party and campaign team. Therefore, the aim of this study is to know the role of political volunteers as well as any obstacles found in the 2024 legislative general elections in Bunyu district of Bulungan. The method used in this research uses a type of qualitative research with a descriptive approach. Data collection on this study uses both interview and observation techniques. The results of this study show that the political volunteers present in the Bunyu district have a vital role, because the political volunteers are the only tool used by the legislative candidates during the general election. Political volunteers also play a role in encouraging people to participate in the political sphere. Money politics and brokers are still and always the obstacles that political volunteers have to face at the time of general elections. However, it is not an obstacle for political volunteers to do their part to the fullest.
