Abstract
There is a lot of data showing that cheating can be done by anyone and anywhere, causing pain and disappointment. Continuing anger and disappointment can keep a person trapped in a cycle of negative emotions unless the individual is willing to forgive the perpetrator. Therefore, it is important for individual victims to be able to reconcile with the person who hurt them as a form of unconditional responsibility from within themselves. Forgiveness is thought to help manage negative emotions within oneself, reducing the desire to retaliate against painful treatment. In the forgiveness process for individual victims of infidelity, emotional regulation is considered important because it is related to the negative impacts that occur in order to be able to manage emotions well. The aim of this research is to reveal whether emotional regulation influences forgiveness behavior in victims of infidelity. The research method used is a quantitative method with a purposive sampling technique. The research instrument used for emotional regulation is the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire scale. Meanwhile, the research instrument for forgiveness is the Transgression-Related Interpersonal Motivation (TRIM-18) scale.
