THE CONCEPT OF HOUSEHUSBAND IN RELATION TO SURAH AN-NISA VERSE 32, ACCORDING TO THE SINGAPORE CONTEXT

The objective of this study is to explore the concept of a househusband in the context of Singapore, through the lens of surah an-Nisa verse 32. In light of the post-pandemic era, the definition of a househusband has been re-examined, and society is now more receptive towards the modern interpretation of the term. This empirical research adopts a qualitative approach to investigate the decision-making process behind assuming the role of a househusband. The data were gathered through surveys and interviews, and the findings indicate that contemporary househusbands differ from their traditional counterparts. The key factors that determine the quality of a househusband's performance, whether on a full-time or
part-time basis, are their characteristics and ability to manage household
responsibilities.
