Abstract
Work stress is one of the emotional responses felt by individuals that can hinder the
process of work activities, and can occur when the demands of work are not in accordance with
the resources, and the needs of the employees themselves to their capabilities. Therefore,
interpersonal communication can have influence on employee work stress. This study aims to
determine the influence of interpersonal communication on work stress in employees. The type
of research used is correlational with simple linear regression data analysis. The subject of the
study was 155 employees using the purposive sampling technique. The measuring tools used in
this study used an interpersonal communication scale (α= 0.905) totaling 40 items and a work
stress scale (α= 0.764) totaling 9 items. The results of the study show that interpersonal
communication to employee work stress is 37%. The rest are influenced by other variables that
were not studied in this study.
