Abstract

Performance is important for a company or organization because high employee performance will influence the running of the company or organization, while work-life balance is a reference to individual involvement and satisfaction with their roles in work life and personal life without conflict between the two roles. Therefore, companies or organizations are expected to pay attention to job satisfaction and psychological needs, namely work-life balance in supporting employee performance. This research is a quantitative research with a non-experimental approach using a quota sampling technique which aims to determine the effect of work-life balance on employee performance. The respondents in this research were 205 employees in Malang City/Regency. There are 2 types of scales used in this research, namely the Work-life Balance scale belonging to Fisher, et. al. (2009) which has been adapted into Indonesian by Genturwati (2019) and Koopmans' (2014) Individual Work Performance Questionnaire (IWPQ) scale which has been adapted into Indonesian by Widyastuti and Hidayat (2018). The data analysis method in this research uses multiple linear regression tests with the IBM SPSS Statistics 27 application program. The results of data analysis in this research show that there is an influence on all dimensions of work-life balance on employee performance with a coefficient of determination of 26%. It is hoped that this research will be able to continue to pay attention to the balance between employees' personal lives and work lives, so as to improve the performance of these employees.
