Abstract
The relevance between physical activity and nerve durability is very close. When carrying out work, sometimes a person does not pay attention to the management of time and energy spent to complete a job and relies on regulations that cover the duration of work applied. Cervical root syndrome (CRS) is a serious problem when someone does heavy work so that compression occurs between the muscles and blood vessels and affects the nerve roots in the nape, neck, shoulders and arms. CRS needs to be treated medically and if left unchecked it can cause ongoing nerve degeneration and can cause paracetia. The relationship between work duration and the occurrence of CRS also covers more aspects ranging from physical condition, genetics to a person's muscle capabilities. This research will focus more on analyzing work duration in influencing cervical root syndrome and using analysis presented in the form of descriptive and comprehensive. The research design uses analytical descriptive research methods with a cross sectional research design. The research instrument used the Neck Disability Index (NDI) questionnaire.Based on the results of the Pearson test, the value of P = 0.001 was obtained, which indicates that there is a relationship between the duration of work and the risk of cervical root syndrome in construction workers.Research conducted shows that there is a relationship between work duration and the risk of cervical root syndrome in construction workers.
