Abstract

This thesis analyzes the reasons for China's involvement in the normalization of diplomatic relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia in 2023. The focus of the research is on the factors that led to China's involvement in the conflict between Iran and Saudi Arabia. This research uses a qualitative explanatory method with data analysis techniques using literature studies from various sources such as journals, books, e-books, theses, working papers, news and other sources. Decision making theory is used as a tool in analyzing the reasons for China's involvement. There are two reasons for China's involvement in the normalization of diplomatic relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia, including internal reasons and external reasons. Internal reasons include domestic politics, military and economics. In domestic politics, the involvement of the Chinese Communist Party in mediating the conflict between Iran and Saudi Arabia, the military aspect has made China change the direction of its foreign policy by becoming more aggressive and proactive, in the economic aspect, China's strength has encouraged it to be involved as well as Xi Jinping's strategy regarding sustainability in the Eastern Region. Middle. External reasons include China's efforts to restrain the influence of America's global power dominance and China's hegemony strategy towards the Middle East region.
