Abstract

The marriage period is not free from problems or conflicts. One way to resolve a conflict between a husband and wife is to forgive. Forgiveness is the willingness to let go of mistakes made by someone who has hurt or committed a wrong act against another individual. Forgiveness can also have a positive impact on oneself, both psychologically and physically. The aim of this research is to describe the level of forgiveness in married early adults. This research uses a descriptive study with a quantitative approach. The data collection technique used Accidental Sampling with a sample of 112 respondents, 56 men and 56 women, with the criteria being that they were in the age range of 20-40 years. The scale in this research will use The Marital Offense-Specific Forgiveness Scale (MOFS). The results of this study show good results, namely that early adults who are married have a high level of forgivingness. Namely, at the age of 20-25 years, (39.3%) of respondents had a high level of forgiveness, (1.8%) had a low level of forgiveness. Ages 26-30 years have results (38.6%) of respondents have a high level of forgiveness, (1.8%) have a low level of forgiveness. Ages 31-35 years had results (13.4%) of respondents had a high level of forgiveness. Ages 36-40 (15.2%) have a high level of forgiveness.
