Abstract
Introduction: Chronic renal failure (CRF) is a progressive decline in kidney tissue function so that the remaining kidney period is no longer able to perform its functions properly. In East Java alone 0.3% of people with chronic kidney disease, and in Malang Raya is quite high with as many as 2,900 who have undergone the process of hemodialysis therapy. One of the psychological impacts caused is happiness, where anxiety has different levels in each person. The level of anxiety is influenced by several factors, one of which is demographic factors.
Objective: to determine the picture of demographic factors and anxiety in hemodialysis patients at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang General Hospital.
Method: This study is a descriptive study with the research design used is descriptive observational, with the sampling technique used is simple random sampling. The sample in this study was 123 hemodialysis patientsResults: the results showed that the most respondents were late elderly (56-65 years) (35.8%), the majority were male (54.5%), with a history of recent elementary school education (34.1%), the majority of whom had a UMR income of <1,500,000 (69.9%) per month, and the most respondents who underwent HD were less than 1 year (36.6%). The level of anxiety experienced by respondents was found to be the majority experiencing moderate anxiety (52%).
Conclusion: this study illustrates that demographic factors such as age, gender, recent education level, UMR income, length of HD, and anxiety level of hemodialysis patients.
