Abstract
Waste management in the world is one of the biggest problems faced by cities with high population density. High population density and urbanisation are the factors that cause an increase in the amount of waste. To overcome this increasing amount of waste, innovations continue to be made by various parties for the same purpose for the environment, including separating organic and inorganic waste to carry out the 3 R process (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle). In addition, good waste management can produce energy that can be used by the community such as methane gas which is used for daily use such as cooking and even electricity. Based on the research conducted, researchers used a qualitative approach with a phenomenological type of research. In collecting data, researchers used 2 data sources, namely primary data and secondary data. Data collection carried out is observation, interviews with various research subjects that researchers consider in accordance with the criteria in the study or commonly referred to as the purposive sampling method. To be able to strengthen the data that has been collected, researchers also carry out literature studies so that the data that researchers collect in carrying out observations and interviews in the field can be appropriate and can strengthen research data. In this study, the theory used is the theory of Community Based Natural Resource Management. So it can be concluded that the results of practices on the concept of Community Based Natural Resource Management that occur in the Talangagung Kepanjen Landfill include the formation of a Self-Help Group born from community initiation, changes in waste management methods carried out by Talangagung Landfill based on suggestions from the community and also the emergence of innovation in the form of methane gas processing which is the result of the sanitary landfill waste management method which is then distributed to the community as a form of mutual concern and responsibility.
