Abstract
The process of generating electrical power starts at power plants and is followed by transmission or distribution to various load points. The goal of the electricity generation system is to consistently meet the energy demand required. One way to enhance the power generation process is by optimizing power plant units, adjusting their output to match the load demand. Unit Commitment is a crucial step in this process, determining which power plant units to operate during each load period. In this study, the algorithm chosen for implementation is the Cuckoo Algorithm, inspired by the reproductive behavior of cuckoo birds. This characteristic is adapted within the unit commitment method to derive optimal solutions from various probabilities
