Supervisor (I) Dr. Daroe Iswatiningsih.Supervisor(II) Dr. Arif Budi Wuriyanto Indonesian language is a national language that learned by all Indonesianpeople. However, Indonesian languange can be stated as foreign language when it learned by other foreign people of the world. Foreigners whom learned about Indonesian Language are able to join the darmasiswa program to increase their competency about Indonesian Language. One of language ability that must be learned is writing competency. There are a lot of different rule in writing ability rather thans peaking ability which is hard to learn. Some written error often found in BIPA’s learner. Therefore, this research aims to describe what kind of written error that occurs in Japanese learner translation result. This research is using aqualitative approach and description. Description method is used to elaborate and describe written error that occurs in translation As a result, there are two type of written error which is in language symptom and grammar. Language symptom error was found because of Indonesian phonology are different with Japanese. Therefore, Japanese learners often make an error in writing /terkujut/ instead of /terkejut/ since they are hard to make difference between /e/ and /u/. Mother tongue often gives an impact intranslation, in this research, Japanese learner error in adding /g/ for every Indonesian word that end with /n/ also problem in using /l/ or /r/ can be found.Some errors found in affix, suffix, and number writing method.
