Abstract
ABSTRACT
This research aims to analyze policies for handling stunting in Tapin Regency, South Kalimantan. The research method involves interviews with relevant stakeholders. In addition, the research uses data and interview results to identify factors inhibiting and supporting the implementation of stunting management policies. The research results show that inhibiting factors include lack of public awareness and knowledge, low economic conditions, unhygienic environmental behavior, and cultural factors. On the other hand, supporting factors involve the allocation of funds from the central and regional levels, collaboration with the private sector, and the existence of a Stunting Reduction Acceleration Team at various levels of government. The policy for handling stunting in Tapin Regency has proven to be quite optimal, with a significant reduction from 33.5% in 2021 to 14.5% in 2022. The Family Assistance Team also makes positive contributions through counseling, facilitation of referral services, and social assistance programs. However, there are still several inhibiting factors such as low public awareness of posyandu and poor sanitation. As a recommendation, it is necessary to improve the performance of the Stunting Reduction Acceleration Team with regular program evaluations. The community is expected to implement good eating and parenting patterns to reduce stunting rates. With these steps, it is hoped that handling stunting in Tapin Regency can be more effective and sustainable.
