Abstract
The Department of Education, Youth, and Sports of Tambrauw Regency has the responsibility to assist the Regent in executing regional governance affairs and assisting duties in the education sector, as well as other tasks assigned by the Regent. Several issues arise in the implementation of business processes in letter creation due to manual methods, leading to numerous challenges in the current letter management system. Therefore, information technology support is needed that can manage correspondence information systems that can be built precisely and quickly. The software development methodology employed is Personal Extreme Programming (PXP), characterized by a solo developer. The Personal Extreme Programming (PXP) approach encompasses phases of requirements elicitation, project planning, architectural design, implementation, system testing, and retrospective analysis.. The outcomes of this study were 13 user stories, then there were additional user stories in the middle of system development so that there were 18 user stories. Testing in this study uses unit testing at the implementation stage, and Black Box Testing, which will be carried out by running the unit or module and observing the results in accordance with the desired function at each iteration. The results of the iterations that have been done have satisfactory results with an average faster than the estimated time. The estimated system development time is 40 days. However, in practice, the overall system development time increased by 16 days to 56 days due to the addition of new user stories and new iterations. However, the implementation time of 40 days was 16 days faster than the predetermined estimation time.
