Abstract
Problem: This research aims to create a Montessori-inspired reading application design solution to address difficulties in early childhood reading learning abilities. Method: This research uses a mixed-method design consisting of qualitative and quantitative data collection through interviews and validating data using numerical data. The method used is the UX Journey, an integrated approach that combines identifying needs and understanding user experiences with developing design thinking concepts. The population in this study is parents. Samples were selected using purposive sampling method. Results: This research produces a design solution for an application that facilitates letter and number recognition, providing a strong foundation for reading in children aged 4-6 years old. Guessing game learning allows children to learn in an interactive and enjoyable way. The application also facilitates word arrangement and understanding of syllables, key skills in the reading process. This solution has gone through the validation and verification stages. The validation process confirms that the features in this application meet user needs and predefined requirements, ensuring its quality and effectiveness through A/B Testing and interview acceptance criteria with parents. Conclusion and Development: The research successfully designs a Montessori Reading application that considers user needs, potentially facilitating language recognition, helping children's reading abilities, and facilitating learning. With an integrated approach and a focus on users, this application has the potential to provide a positive learning experience and support the development of reading abilities in children. Suggestions for future research are to conduct further studies and develop additional features based on previous research results.
