Abstract

The matter facile from the introduction study show that low student activity can affect the learning outcomes of the natural resources science subject. In addition, there is no learning media in science lessons for class III SD natural resources material. This study aims to increase student activity through power-active media as a support for the learning of third-grade elementary school students on natural resources. This categorize of research is classroom action research carried out in two cycles based on the Kemmis & Mc model. Taggart contained four steps. Classroom action
research was carried out in four stages, namely planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. The research targets were 21 grade III elementary school students consisting of 10 boys and 11 girls. The type of data obtained from learning outcomes
and student activity. Instruments were obtained from evaluation questions to measure learning outcomes and student response sheets as a measure of student activity. The evaluation results of students from cycle I obtained a percentage of 71% having sufficient criteria while in cycle II obtained a percentage of 90% having good criteria. The results of the student response sheets in cycle I got a score of 70.24% having the "sufficient" criterion while in cycle II getting an average score of 93.56% in the "very high" category. Through evaluation questions and student response sheets, it can be concluded that power-active media is appropriate to be used as a support in increasing the activeness of learning natural sciences for third- grade elementary school students.
