Abstract
Catfish (Pangasius pangasius) is a freshwater fish from the Pangasidae family which is quite popular in Indonesia. The high demand in domestic and international markets means that catfish are widely cultivated in Indonesia. Transportation is very necessary in the distribution of catfish seeds. Transportation activities can cause stress in fish. The way to reduce the metabolic rate of fish so that they do not become stressed is by administering anesthesia, one of the natural ingredients that can be used as an anesthetic is rubber seed extract. The aim of this research is to determine the maximum dose of rubber seed extract (Hevea brasiliensis) which can affect the induction and sedation time of catfish (Pangasius pangasius) seeds and to determine the use of research results as a biological learning resource. This research is true experimental research with a simple random sampling technique. Completely randomized design with 5 treatments (Dose 0 ml/L, 3 ml/L, 5 ml/L, 10ml/L and 15 ml/L) and four replications. Statistical analysis uses ANOVA with the Least Significant Difference (BNT) test. The results of the research showed that treatment of rubber seed extract with different doses had a very significant effect on the induction time and sedative time of catfish seeds. From the research results, data on the best dose of rubber seed extract was obtained, namely 15 ml/L with an induction time of 5.25 minutes with a survival rate of 82% and 3 ml/L with a sedative time of 1,75 minuts with a survival rate of 96%. The implementation of biology learning resources resulted in a pocked book product as open material and a reference that discusses the effect of rubber seed extract dosage on anesthesia.
