Abstract
Acute myocardial infarct (AMI) is ischemic myocardial cell damage (necrosis) resulting from blockage in the coronary arteries. Proteins produced and released by myocyte cells into the bloodstream can be used to detect damage or death to these cells. Myocardial infarction is characterized by reduced blood supply due to narrowing of critical coronary arteries caused by atherosclerosis or complete obstruction of the arteries by emboli or thrombus. The use of ACE inhibitors in AMI patients improves hemodynamics, reduces congestive heart failure, and prevents ventricular remodeling. Patients with AMI who are complicated by heart failure or impaired ventricular function will need to take ACE inhibitors for the rest of their lives. Patients with AMI who also have diabetes, hypertension, or chronic kidney disease should receive ACE inhibitor therapy for long-term secondary prevention, unless there are contraindications. Method: Observational research with a retrospective data collection method which was analyzed descriptively.
