AN ANALYSIS OF MORAL VALUES IN ENCANTO MOVIE. Undergraduate thesis. Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang.

Movies are one part of literary works that have the function of entertaining. Apart from being used as entertainment, films can also be used as educational media because they consist of audio and visual content that can attract students' attention and contain moral values, which define the beliefs that inform good and bad behavior. Students should be introduced to and taught moral values to understand and learn them. This research aims to find out what moral values are presented in Encanto movies and the most dominant moral values in Encanto movies. In this research, the author uses library research by using a qualitative descriptive method approach. This research data is moral values listed in the script dialog spoken by the characters when shown in the movie. The data sources of this research come from the movie titled "Encanto". The author uses documentation techniques to collect data. and also, researchers use data analysis to analyze data. The findings showed that there were eight types of moral values spoken and gestures of the characters in the movie Encanto. The types of moral values are self-confidence, responsibility, courage, altruism, wisdom, justice, regret, and respect. Then, the most dominant moral value in Encanto movie is self-confidence. This movie can be an example of material in education that students can use to learn and observe moral values.
