Abstract

Background: HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is a type of virus that
attacks/infects white blood cells and reduces human immunity. AIDS (Acquired
Immunodeficiency Syndrome) is a group of disease symptoms caused by
weakening of the body's immunity due to HIV infection. Antiretrovirals can reduce
the risk of HIV transmission, improve the quality of life of HIV sufferers, and
reduce the amount of virus (viral load) in the blood until it is undetectable.
Objective: The aim of this research is to find out data on the prescribing profile
and side effects of HIV/AIDS outpatients who use antiretroviral (ARV) at the Leces
Community Health Center.
Method: This research uses a prospective, quantitative descriptive research type.
The instruments used were prescription data and questionnaires which were
distributed directly to HIV/AIDS patients at the Leces Health Center, Probolinggo
Regency. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling.
Results and Conclusions: Research conducted from November 2023 to January
2024 showed that the profile of antiretroviral (ARV) drug prescribing at the Leces
Community Health Center, Probolingo Regency, was found to be users of
antiretroviral drugs TLE (1x1) 48.8%, duviral + neviral (2x1) 29.1%, TLD (1x1)
16.3%, duviral + efavirenz (2x1) 5.8%. The side effect that many patients
experience is 33.7% experiencing nausea or vomiting and 29.1% experiencing the
side effect is drowsiness.
