Abstract
Background : Diabetes Mellitus is an abnormal metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and proteins caused by decreased insulin secretion or decreased sensitivity, or both, which is characterized by increased blood sugar levels or hyperglycemia. Gangrene is partial or total damage to the skin that extends to the subcutaneous tissue, tendons, muscles, bones or joints that occurs in a person suffering from diabetes mellitus. die from not getting an adequate blood supply or from a severe bacterial infection. This study aims to describe how the management of regional glucose levels in patients with diabetes mellitus type in the Soedirman Room.
Methods : The writing of this scientific work uses a research design with a case study approach to explain how the nursing management of blood glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in the Soedirman Room. The author follows the scientific method according to the rules of the nursing process. In the assessment process the authors used various data collection techniques such as anamnesis, observation, documentation studies, and physical examination. To complete the data, the authors also interviewed patients and families.
Results: The result of this case study is the resolution of the problem of unstable blood glucose levels. The integrity of the skin and tissues in patients has not been resolved due to the need for further action. Implementation carried out for 4 days of treatment.
Discussion: Nursing problems taken include unstable blood glucose levels which are priority nursing diagnoses. Implementation is carried out in accordance with the nursing intervention plan. The evaluation obtained is that blood glucose levels have improved, for skin and tissue integrity in patients it is necessary to carry out further actions.
