Abstract
Adolescents are the nation's next generation. However, some of them are
involved in drug abuse. This study aims to describe the development of a
holistic approach to empowering drug abuse adolescents to improve their
social functioning. Data collection techniques were carried out by
observation, interviews, and Focus Group Discussion (FGD). Data
analysis was performed using interactive model analysis. The results
showed that the adolescent's empowerment was carried out by
establishing an empowerment program, with the following approaches:
participation, partnership, self-reliance, and self-sufficiency. The
empowerment program helped enhance the adolescents' social
functioning by fulfilling their daily needs, overcoming their problems,
enabling them to carry out their social roles both in the family and the
community, and developing themselves.
