Abstract
A power plant is a device or machine tasked with producing electrical energy using energy conversion methods from various energy sources. Most large-scale power plants consist of several basic components, one of which is a synchronous generator. Synchronous generators have their own problems such as voltage and frequency fluctuations when the load changes. So a tool is needed to stabilize the voltage such as an Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR). AVR is used to control and stabilize the voltage produced by generators, but the AVR device itself has been shown to experience a high error rate when the pressure changes. Problems that arise with AVR are related to undershoots, overshoots, settling time and steady state errors. So the new scheme on the AVR uses FOPID control which is optimized with Simulated Annealing and Grey Wolf Optimization. This makes it possible to increase the actual voltage in a short time. It also maintains system stability and prevents distortion due to load changes.
