Abstract
The news criticizing Anies' policy on electric cars in the May 7-11, 2023 edition, written by journalists from cnnindonesia.com, has a significant impact on how society views and evaluates an event or figure being discussed. Criticism of the electric car policy conveyed by Anies has become a sensitive topic. If the news presented is not comprehensive, negative impacts can arise. This research uses a quantitative approach and a descriptive content analysis research type. The research is conducted with the aim of determining whether cnnindonsia.com implements the 9 principles of journalism by Bill Kovach and Tom Rosenstiel comprehensively. Data collection techniques are carried out by documenting cnnindoneis.com's web content. Data analysis techniques include establishing coders, organizing categories, and inputting data into coding sheets. The research results on the application of the 9 principles by Bill Kovach and Tom Rosenstil on the news portal cnnindonesia.com, along with their percentages, are as follows: Truthfulness Principle 22.75%, Loyalty to Citizens Principle 8.95%, Verification Discipline Principle 7.21%, Independence Principle 9.45%, Power Monitoring Principle 9.1%, Providing a Criticism Forum Principle 10.32%, Appealing and Relevant Principle 10.32%, Proportional and Comprehensive Principle 8.7%, and finally, Conscience Principle 11.2%. Based on the above percentages and associated with cnnindonesia.com's rating scale, it can be seen that they have implemented the principles of Bill Kovach and Tom Rosenstiel well, as evidenced by the percentages for each principle. So, it can be concluded that cnnindonesia has applied the 9 principles of Bill Kovach and Tom Rosenstiel effectively.
