Abstract

Organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) is the voluntary behavior of employees in doing work beyond the assigned tasks and salary compensation received. Employees who feel satisfied with their jobs may be more able to bring out OCB behavior. The relationship can be strengthened by the value of conservation and self-transcendence owned by employees. The purpose of this study was to determine the moderating role of conservation and self transcendence values on the relationship between job satisfaction and OCB. The subjects of this study were 76 employees of Aster cosmetic company in Malang. The research instruments were Organizational Citizenship Behavior Scale developed by William and Andersons (1991) and has been adapted by Grasiaswaty, et al (2016), job satisfaction survey developed by Paul E. Spector (1994), and personal values PVQ-RR Schwartz (2012). Data analysis used moderated regression analysis. The results showed that there was a positive and significant relationship between job satisfaction and OCB. However, the value of conservation and self transcendece did not moderate the relationship between job satisfaction and OCB.
