Abstract

Background: Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by the bacteria Mycobacterium Tuberculosis, which can attack various organs, especially the lungs. In general, the symptoms felt by patients are coughing up phlegm, coughing with blood, chest pain and dyspnea. To alleviate these symptoms, the author will perform a combination of Active Cycle Of Breathing Technique and oxygen therapy.
Objective: To determine the application of the combination of Active Cycle of Breathing Technique (ACBT) and oxygen therapy to reduce sputum production, dyspnea andcough in tuberculosis patients.
Methods: The research method used in this Ners Final Scientific Work is Case Report, which includes assessment to evaluation. The sample of this study was 2 respondents of Tuberculosis patients with purposive sampling technique. Data collection using interviews, observation and physical examination. In this study, BCSS was used to assess changes before and after the intervention.
Results: After being given nursing care for approximately 4 hours, the author raised the main diagnosis of ineffective airway clearance b/d. retained secretions. From the main diagnosis, the problem was partially resolved, there were changes in BCSS values and an increase in oxygen saturation after the intervention.
Discussion : The main nursing problem in both patients is ineffective airway clearance, interventions are carried out that combine Active Cycle Of Breathing Technique with Oxygen Therapy to reduce sputum production, dyspnea and cough. Other recommended actions that can be given to patients with Tuberculosis are using anti-tuberculosis drugs for further treatment. ACBT can also be performed on patients with different diseases but have the same complaints.
