Abstract

Aini, Jihan Nur, 2023. Analysis of Students' Mathematical Problem Solving Ability Based on Self-Efficacy and Self-Regulated Learning, Mathematics Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Muhammadiyah Malang.
This study aims to determine the mathematical problem solving ability of students based on 3 levels of self-efficacy categories and equivalent self-regulation in solving HOTS problems. This research used descriptive qualitative method and approach.
The subjects in this study were students of class VIII B in the odd semester of the 2023/2024 SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Batu. Data were taken from Self-Efficacy Questionnaire, Self-Regulated Learning, tests with Arithmetic Rows and Rows material. Questionnaires are used to classify student 3 categories in self-efficacy and self-regulation. And the purpose of the test is to find out the students' problem solving ability in solving problems of arithmetic ranks and series material.
The results of this study indicate that students who are classified as low in Self-Efficacy and Self-Regulated Learning category, have low problem solving skills. While students who are classified in the high category of Self-Efficacy and Self-Regulated Learning, have high problem solving skills.
