Indonesia is an archipelagic country consisting of 17,001 islands, six of which are large islands. With the background of this archipelagic country, one of the obstacles for Indonesia is equitable development from all aspects on each of its islands. Recently, there has been a lot of news about the condition of damaged roads in Lampung. This news has resulted in President Joko Widodo deciding to make a visit to confirm the truth in cyberspace.
This research uses a qualitative approach with an interpretive research type using framing analysis research as a basis. The theory that researchers use in this research is Agenda Setting Theory. This research is qualitative research using Robert Pan and Kosicki's framing analysis method.
The findings from this research are that there are differences in news exposure on Tempo.co and Detik.com. In a Tempo media report, it was stated that the government did not deny that the visit occurred because it became popular on social media. Media Tempo also emphasized that taking over road repairs was a political step and also did not solve existing problems. Media Tempo seems to be focusing their discussion on this decision, this can be seen from the choice of title and also the choice of diction in the news they package. In contrast to the Detik media which places President Jokowi at the center of the discussion, the Tempo media does not seem to focus on reporting on President Jokowi's comments. In the Detik media report, President Jokowi was highlighted and President Jokowi's comments during the visit. There is also an emphasis on taking over road repairs, as well as the inability of local governments to carry out repairs. In the news packaged by the Detik media there is no criticism of the results of decisions made by the Central Government, this is of course different from the Tempo media which highlights the results of the Central Government's decision to take over repairs
