Abstract
Game addiction has become a particular concern because it has become a common problem faced by students. Game addiction is the compulsive or uncontrolled use of games, and reduced control, which causes problems in aspects of a person's life. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) in reducing gaming addiction in college students. The type of research used is quasi-experimental. The research subjects were 10 students who met the criteria for game addiction. The measurement instrument uses the Game Addiction Scale (GAS). The data analysis method uses the Wilcoxon test and the Mann-Whitney test. The research results showed that there was a significant reduction in game addiction scores in the experimental group after being given treatment in the form of MBCT therapy. Apart from that, the Mann-Whitney test was carried out and obtained a Z value = -2.627 p = 0.009 (p <0.05).
