Abstract
The Sumberawan Temple tourist area is a unique destination with a cool natural environment, surrounded by pine and bamboo forests with an altitude of around 650 meters above sea level and a tropical climate, this area has high biodiversity potential. Focusing on the inventory of fern diversity, this research can make an important contribution in the context of biology education where relevant learning resources are often limited. This study aims to identify the types of ferns (Pteridophyta) that can be found in the Sumberawan Temple tourist area, Malang Regency. This type of research is Quantitative Descriptive. This research was conducted in January - June 2023 in the Sumberawan Temple tourist area located in Malang Regency, East Java, Indonesia. Data analysis using the species diversity index (H'), species abundance index (e) and correlation test between environmental factors and fern species. The results showed that the Sumberawan Temple tourist area, Malang Regency, contained 23 species of ferns. Overall the level of fern diversity in this area is classified as moderate. While the species abundance index (e) shows uniform abundance. There is a correlation between some species of ferns with environmental factors such as air temperature, air humidity, light intensity, soil pH, and soil moisture. The conclusion shows that there are 23 species identified from 12 families. Each fern species shows a correlation with environmental factors. The result of this research can be used as a biology learning resource in the form of a poster.
